MM vs WM module

I would like to know when an enterprise should implement MM and WM?.

HI,

When u handle stocks in bulk it becomes essential to use WM.

If there are huge stocks which require space, effort and the monitoring WM plays an important role.

There are also some hazardous stocks, perishable stocks whose shelf life has to be continosly mnitored and accordinglt they have to be putaway or removed from the warehouse adopting suitable LIFO/FIFO strategies.

WM is a feature or an extension of MM. In MM the stocks are just placed in a storage location but do not have the facility of stock removal or stock placement strategies.

Adopting WM helps to properly handle the stocks which can help in reducing its tracking time, adopting proper strategies for the putaway and placement helps in reducing the removal time and the loading time. Plus it has the feature of actually confirming the transfer orders for the stock placement and removals.
