Hi,

Cost object is nothing but the cost collectors like cost centers or internal order or WBS element.

In okb9 we give default cost object setting so that system understand that for x GL these are the Profit centers & through which it arrives at cost centers.

System finds out profit center from material master then search in to OKB9 whether default cost object is maintain for that profit center or not.If this link get failed system gives above message.

regards,

Abhijit

Use transaction OKB9 to assign a default cost object to a cost element.
