DSO vs ODS (Overwrite)

Hi Gurus,

In 3.x we can specify that a ODS is set to 'overwrite' for characteristics and Key figures in the Update rule.

How/where do we specify characteristics/key figures to overwrite without an update rule using a DSO/transformation in BI 7.0? My goal is to use BI7.0 functionality and not use 3.x.

Hi,

1.Overwrite option is only available for KF. Characteristics are always overwritten. You have to do double click over the KF. You will see two options. The first one is to select direct assigment, formula, routine,etc..

Under this option you can select adding or overwritting.

2.Go to the tramsformations of your DSO..In the Rule Group..Click on any key Figure..

This pops u a window..in which u will find AGGREGATION ..Then u can select either OVERWRITE.

Hi,

When you create Transformation between DSO & Datasource,

in the transformation rule for a particular Keyfigure there will be an option Aggregation,

there u have to select either overwrite or Aggregate.

there is only Overwrite function for char. used in datafields.
