KA01 problem

Sir in tcode MB31 i am getting following message:-

Create account 50200000 for 18.10.2008 as a cost element in controlling area ARP

Message no. KI280

Diagnosis

Account 50200000 is a profit and loss account. You assigned it to an object in cost accounting (for example, a cost center, order, or project).

System response

Account 50200000 in the determined controlling area ARP must exist as a cost element on the posting date 18.10.2008.

Procedure

u2022 Create account 50200000 as a cost element and then repeat your posting.

u2022 Or, delete auxiliary account assignment to objects in cost accounting.

Sir in KA01 i had already created cost element.

Can u please suggest me what to do in such case?

Dear,

You may create a cost element using transaction KA01, set your controlling area. Create a cost element (50200000) using Code KA01 Check and maitain valid from.

Hi Raghav,

• yes, you have to check validity period which we maintain in cost element master data.

• And if you don't want to assign any auxiliary account to any particular item you can do it using Tcode OME9 . You can supress the cost object.

• But i would suggest that if you are using consumptoin account you must create as cost element account.

Check the validity period of your cost element. If it is valid , then it is created under category primary cost element and not locked for postings.
