Material master

Hi PP Experts,

Can anybody please tell me,

When & Which data is updated in material master when we do any transaction.

e.g As when we do GI or GR, Total stock & value get updated.

Please helpout.

Dear,

As we do the GR and GI the consumption value get updated in materil master. You can see in stock quantity in material master or check in additional TAP consumption data.

Price of a material through txn MR21,that price(moving avg.price) is updated in material master (account view) also.

HI,

I am bit confuse. GI / GR are activities of inventory. How come it will change the Material Master. Material master is a master data for any material as much as I know it should not change because of any transaction data.

Hi Pradeep,

If you select Price control as Vmoving average price in Material type i.e OMS2,then for respective material type when you do GI or GR stock & value get updated in Accounting view.

Hope this will clear you.

Dear,

Do you see a field total inventory value and total stock?

These two field are linked. If the stock field value is cghanged during GR(stock will increase) or GI (stock will reduce), then total stock field will change, accordinly the inventory value which is nothing but stock*unit price will alos change.According to price control S or V...updation may vary.

Plant stock and storage loc stock view in material master also changes as per invenory transactions(GR/GI/MB1B etc).

Consuption qty in material master will also changes the data in the screen additional data-->consumption.

Even though materila master is a master...whatever you are seing is the data which got updated like a report.

Hi,

Following are the some of the transaction which updates the Material Master.

- After creation of Production version.You will find that change document in Material Master.T.code C223

- After Std. Cost Estimate run.CK11N,CK24

- As you also written. Change in material stock or we can say Goods Issue or receipt.

- For QM Prospective - Mass change in Inspection Type by QA08.
