Portal Administrator

Hi Experts,

I work on Webdynpro Java, and i am Interested to be a portal administrator, so please tell me what is the role of a portal administrator, and what is the role of basis team,

And from where should i start??

hi,

To start with the job of a Basis team would be installing the Portal, applying the patches and configuring the SAP J2EE Engine.

As a Portal Administrator would be creating Users assigning them the roles, creating groups and maintaining all the users in the Portal.

Now coming to the Content part of Portal, you will be creating all the PCD objects setting the permissions of the content objects.

You will also be respoonsible for deploying all the content on the Portal and configuring them.
