1.Can a Schedule line of a sales item of a order be in different delivery docs?

Yes. It is possible. The possible reason are:

a. Schedule Line is for different Dates.

b. Shipping point is different

c. At line item, Ship-to-party are different

2. What are batches in a delivery item? Can each batch of a delivery item have different delivery dates?

Some of the Material is manufactured and maintained in Batches. For Eg. In a Pharma Company, a particular quantity of same medicine will belong to same batch probably as they might have been manufactured from a particular mix.

A material from same batch can be delivered to multiple customer and also the delivery date can vary.

3. How is delivery different from shipping? Can a delivery date be different from a shipment date?

Delivery and Shipping are different terms with similar meaning. In SAP the 2 dates can be different, as one may be the date on which the customer receives the material and another date is a date on which the material is exoected to be ready for shipment.

4. What does Goods issue date mean? does it mean, the product was issued from the manufacturing plant on that date or does it mean it was delievered to a customer on tha tdate?

Goods issue refer to material being dispatched from the plant premises and ownership of material moving to the customer. This is an issue date to customer and has no relevance as to when it was transfered from Production stock to sales stock.

5. Will different delivery items of a delivery doc have different created on dates?

If refering to single delivery document with multiple line items, it will have same dates.

6. Is Created on date available at the header level and item level of a delivery doc?

Ideally at Header level.

Hi there,

1) Yes possible. If partial deliveries are allowed for the customer.

3) Shipping process also includes shipment, shipment costs apart from delivery doc, pick pack & PGI. Yes delivery creation date can be different from shipmnet creation date.

4) Goods issue date is when PGI is done, when the items leave the shipping point. Date on which the goods are deliveried to the customer is called confirmed delivery date.

5) No. In 1 single delivery, line items cannot have different delivery dates. All delivery line items in 1 single delivery have a same created on dates.

6) Yes LIKP-ERDAT at header level, LIPS-ERDAT at item level.

1.Can a Schedule line of a sales item of a order be in different delivery docs?

Though SAP links a scheule Line Item with one delivery docs as an item but for manual changes in the item in the delivery document the same schedule line can be linked to delivery docs

2. What are batches in a delivery item? Can each batch of a delivery item have different delivery dates?

Batches are the number of the materials that are batch managed (manufactured under similar conditions). There is a nbatch determination strategy for different areas. No, The delivery determines the date and not the batches identified.

3. How is delivery different from shipping? Can a delivery date be different from a shipment date?

This is just a confusion in terminology, Creating delivery is one of the step in shipment process whcih includes other steps like picking , packing, PGI etc. Ideally the palnned dates fro delivery date and shipment dates are same but the actual dates can be different based on when the shipment was done.

4. What does Goods issue date mean? does it mean, the product was issued from the manufacturing plant on that date or does it mean it was delievered to a customer on tha tdate? This means when the outbound movement of physical product takes place. At this point the inventory is no longer in your stock.

5. Will different delivery items of a delivery doc have different created on dates?

No the created on date is only at header.

6. Is Created on date available at the header level and item level of a delivery doc?

Thanks
