TVARVC table entries

Guys,

I've created a variable entry in TVARVC table and want to access that variable name in Variant of a query.

I created an entry in this table using STVARVC transaction and i can see this entry in SE16 list of TVARVC table. Somehow it's not available in Variant Attribute screen even though i select Selection Variable type = 'T'.

Do you have any idea, what could be the problem?

Regards

You probably defined your variable under the incorrect Type. If your variant is for a Parameter field, the process looks at the variables in TVARVC that are of type P. If your variant is for a Selection-field then only the variants of type S are considered. Your best bet would be to define your variables in TVARVC as both Parameters(type P) and Select-Options (type S), which gives your more flexibility.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried with all options of Parameter and Select-Options, nothing has worked till now.

Strange thing is, I have already used the same thing at my earlier client but it's not working right now.

If you find any clue please let me know.

Thanks,

Prasad

You need to maintain variants in table RSRVARIANT in BI 7.
