What are the risks involved when maintaining only one solution manager system for entire client landscape(Small size).
Or No risks are involved?
Or Is this the SAP rrecommended approach for small size landscapes?
One SolMan system -> DEV and QAS and another SolMan system -> PRD.

Anand: Risks Involved depends on what all aspects\Scenarios the Solution Manager System is used for. It Could be used for the following purposes
1) Service Desk
2) Solution Monitoring
3) System Monitoring
4) Change Management
How do you propose to use the Solman system ?

Anand: This is the most idealistic and SAP recommended way of using Solman....it always better to have it this way no matter in how many scenarios you intend to use Solman for....

Anand,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, We do configure SolMan for all these four scenarios. If this is the case what are the risks are involved having only one solman system for entire landscape. We need to explain our client the risks/disadvanctages of having only one solman.
Note: However we have conviced the user for two solman systems for entire landscape.
Dear Sanjai,
The Risk involved depends on the scenarios its used and the complexcity of the requirements in those scenarios...
The major risks here would be as in case of any other SAP system, which is that you would be forced to develop\test your Programs\enchancements directly on the Production system only... which is definately hazardous.....
Even if u have 2 system landscape, you can still Test your developments on one system and move the relevant transport request from one system to the productive systems....
Also let me also inform you that availabilty of your solman systems should be almost 100% as this systems monitors all other sytems in your landscape...
Considering all these, its recommended to have a 2-tier landscape....
Inspire people by rewarding
Regards,
Anand..
