Hi Experts,
I have a requirement that a key figure should be populated with Number or N.A or BLANK. I am uploading the input data from an Excel Sheet. As the Keyfigure Doesnt Accept N.A i am replacing N.A with 0 in the excel sheet. But When i am looking the data in the DSO it is showing 0's when the value is Zero and BLANK. But i want to differentiate between BLANK and 0(when ever 0 comes 0 should be displayed and when ever BLANK comes BLANK must be displayed). Pls help me in this regard.
As i read your example i think the only way to distinguish between zero and NA can be achieved by adding an additional characteristic or by using for example a negative value. Otherwise blank/zero/etc will be all the same to BW.
Is it possible for you to use negative values? Using a formule offers the possibility to show them as N.A.

It may be more helpful if you tell us your requirement. In the SAP world, there is no such thing as a null value. Meaning you cannot have a null value in any SAP (BW, BI, R/3, ECC, CRM, etc...) field.
SAP interprets a 0 as a null value for numeric fields, a space as a null value for character and string fields and 00000000 as the null value for date fields.
BW goes a step further .. if there is no data, then you get the pound sign (#).
So, tell us what you are trying to do and we may be able to think of a better solution for you.

This is the Excel Upload(input). Some times it might not to be possible to get all the data . So that fields are filled as N.A(Not Applicable/Not Available). When ever the data is available and is equal to zero it is filled with BLANK as shown above. So I want to show the same in the Query Designer. But when i am loading the data , as key figure doesnt accept N.A i am replacing it with 0. But when i see the data in DSO both blank and 0 are shown as 0 only.
Hope u understood my req now. Pls suggest a soln.
Thanks in Advance.

I think when you build query on it you will be able to distinguish between 0s and blank when you enable Show Zero as in your Query properties.Give it a try at query level as this is where the user sees data.
Hope this helps.
