I would like to why are number ranges are not transportable
i want a specific answer as it why we generally do not transport number ranges
Dear Varada Rajan,
As per my knowledge the current number ranges in the Production system and in the development sytem will be the different so we cant imagine which intervals are available in the prodution system because it is on line system.
So not advaisable to transport the number range related settings
I hope this will help you,
Regards,
Murali.

Hello,
Generally number ranges will be maintained in each system manually. This is because the current number may mismatch between different systems.
You may transoprt the number ranges manually, but before doing any transaction in any systems.

hello, friend.
in the course of configuration or in testing, number ranges for some documents are used (i.e. FI and CO). of course, you wish the number ranges in the target system (production) to start from the very beginning. which is why you don't transport number range definitions. however, you can transport number range assignments (just make sure that definitions in target system are consistent).
regards.
