Read Mode of Drop-Down in Bex Analyzer

Hi,

While designing a workbook for IP in BEx Analyzer I used design item Drop-Down box. There are 3 options for 'Read Mode' property of the drop-down as:

1. Master data table

2. Posted Value

3. Dimension table

Can anyone explain with a simple example What is the differences between three?

Hi,

Master data table option would display all masterdata's that are available in the master data table for chosen characteristic.

Posted values option would display only those masterdata's that are found in the transaction data set i.e when you check for transaction data in list cube, check for a particular characteristic column.

say cost center characteristic has 400 master data's , your transaction data would include only 300 cost centers because thats what was found in the source.

so posted values selection would only display 300 and not all 400 cost centers.
