Account xxx requires assignment to co object

Hi,

We are getting the above error when we are creating service PO with accont assignment C: Sales order and MTS sales order as cost element.

If we use MTO sales order no for the same input then there is no error. Can you suggest where we have to correct?

Please check t-code OKB9.

Enter t-code OKB9, Enter Company code, Cost center and other required detail against your cost element.

Dear Mahesh,

When we assign it to MTS sales order we are getting this Account assignment error. But still we want to assign the MTS Sales Order and not cost centre.

How should we rectify this error.

You normally configure OKB9 when you need assignments of Cost Objects (Business Area, Cost Centre, Profit Centre or Profitability Segment) to some transactions during Automatic Postings.

E.g., if you need to post a certain cost (say a Purchase Order or so) to specific Business Areas depending on the Plant or Val Area, you could define that using OKB9.

Or, you may want to detemine the Profitability Segment when posting to certain GLs. This may not be possible during posting, since these are automatic postings. In this situation, you would mention the PSG for postings to the Company Code.

These are only a couple off numerous such scenarios.

It is advisable to use OKB9 rather than KA02, so that your Cost Elements are not "fixed" to certain plants or Cost Centres. OKB9 provides more flexibility.

So Please assign the Cost center to GL account / Cost element in OKB9........

Here we are not using concept of OKB9 for defauld cost element assignment. Is there any other way than OKB9 ?

Hi

In MTS scenario if you are using a sales order then you need to give the Profit center or cost center assignement also in the PO

In MTO this is not required as the Cost is drectly consumed to the sales order.

Where we can assign the Profit center or cost center in PR? In account assignment i have assigned the sale order . there is no no other account assignment field .

Any other things is there for MTS PR Creation against the SO? IN PR i can assign the cost center, SO assignments. what is the exact process for MTS SO PR creation

Assign the Cost Center to GL account / Cost Element in OKB9 trxn code..

In OKB9, you have to maintain entry with GL A/c and Cost Center against which you want to post the entry.
