Dear Experts,
Can we map the scenario of refurbishment process through normal maintenance order ? We dont want split valuation to be used . Please suggest.
Regards,
Ram
Ram,
Yes you can have a simplified refurbishment process:
Process:
- Create a normal order
- Goods issue your materials to the order (MT261)
- Refurbish the materials using labour, materials, etc as usual
- Goods receipt the stock back to the warehouse (MT262)
- Settle the refurbishment costs to a suitable receiver e.g. refurb cost centre.
- Close order
Limitations:
- The equipment must not be serialised
- The material must not be split valued
- Cost cannot be posted to the material
- No way of knowing which individual materials were refurbished (unless you enter something in the order e.g. long text)

Ram,
The material cost of the stock is dependent upon the 261/262 movement types. So if you withraw the stock at £100, it may go back at the same rate (standard price) or it may go back at some other price (moving average).
The other costs for materials, labout, purchases, external services will need to be settled as usual.
External refurb can be done via free-text PR/PO or external services. But unless it has changed recently, you cannot use sub-contracting in the standard R/3 system from within a PM/CS order..

No you can't. Refurbishment order is for service center repair and maintenance order is on-site repair. Refurbishment process involves removing and returning the equipment to stock and hence requires material master for the equipment. For maintenance order scenario material master can be used but not mandatory for the process to work unlike in the refurbishment process.
