Sravan,

Backward scheduling is used, when you want to plan the production based on the Required Delivery date. Forward scheduling is used, when the customer is not demanding on the delivery date and manufacutring has abundant capacity to start production.

Hi,

If customer given the material required date, we can go for backward scheduling.

If the production is not based on the customer requirement, we can go for forward scheduling.

When using backward scheduling, if the basic date falls in the past date, system will automatically schedule to Today scheduling.

Dear,

1) If the duration of inhouse production time is not long enough, such that the start date of the production order falls in to future from Today's date, then the system performs BACKWARD scheduling using the routing So is done as per delivery date from client to be fix..

2) If the duration of inhouse production time is long enough, such that the start date of the production order falls in past from Today's date, then the system performs FOWARD scheduling using the routing. We define as per own delivery date.

Basic conpect.

For Backward scheduling:

Opening period+ Inhouse prod time + GR processing time

For Forward scheduling:

Inhouse prod time + GR processing time

Hope clear to you.

Hi,

forward scheduling: The system schedules forward starting from the basic start date.

backward scheduling: The system schedules backward starting from the basic finish date.

Determining Dates in Routings

In forward scheduling

if u enter basic start date

you will get:

scheduled start

scheduled finish

basic finish date

if u enter basic start and basic finish dates

you will get :

scheduled start

scheduled finish

In backward scheduling

If you enter

basic finish date

you will get:

basic start date

scheduled start

scheduled finish

If you enter basic finish and basic start dates

You will get:

scheduled start

scheduled finish

You can set up scheduling types for routings in Customizing for capacity planning under Operations ® Scheduling.

Hope this helps.
