SMTP installation ?

Hello Basis Experts,

scenario:

We have a BW 3.5 system. we need to get the email notifcations working for the process chains. Our company uses the microsoft outlook for email communications.

-- 1) How much time does take to install a SMTP server.

-- 2) is there any paper describing the steps for the installation

-- 3) could you please list out the steps needed to be configured.

Any suggestions appreciated. it would be great if you could send the documents to mgmswsol@gmail.com

i have done the settings as mentioned in the help document.

still, in the SCOT transaction I do not see a SMTP node.

But I see the INT ( Internet ) node. And it is set to Swithed off.

if i go to SCOT > View Node > I see the SMTP > a node INT internet ( switched off ) > one more node with value '*'

wondering why is this node switched off? how to switch it on
