Java SP level after System Copy

Former Member

I would like to to do a Homogenous system copy of NW7.0 EP (WEBAS JAVA only). The target system has to be on SP14 level (same as source) , I would

1. patch up SAP Kernel 7.0 to be consistent with source kernel.

2. import JAVA schema through sapinst

3. Do I have to run JSPM again on target system to bring in all relevant SP14 patches??

Is there any other manual step I need to take care for JAVA-Only systems after system copy. I also have 6 DI JAVA servers.

Regards,

....Ishrat

Hi,

You can follow installation guide for NW7 for doing a homogeneous system copy of JAVA only system.

service.sap.com/instguides.

When you do a system copy, it will automatically be at SP14, you don't need to patch again.

You can patch the kernel after the system copy is done.

Hi Ishrat,

If your Source system is in SP14 Patch level there is no need to run the JSPM on the target system, sapinst will take care of it during system copy. Please refer to SAP Note 831812 for Post System copy steps.
