Hi Experts,
i have a requirement to maintain different number ranges for Org units.
For the top level org units they wanted a different num range and the one below the highest org level should have different org units?
how to achieve this?
many thanks
Yes my friend people here confusing with Personnel Number ranges
You should have them OM number ranges
Whatever you given above is path you can also use this Tcode OONR
$$$$
First two $$ are for plan version and second $$ for Object type
For that you need to create your plan version
That plan version you need to put in T77S0 table
PLOGI PLOGI
I you want to maintain different plan version
Coming to the point you creation of number ranges for org. units
In OONR screen you need to go to new entries create number range for your object
with your plan version
For example you want create new number rang for org. Unit. Org. unit object type is O
And your plan version is 04
You need to give there 04O and save
Select your entry click on number ranges maintenance
You will find a screen there you can create external number ranges or internal number ranges
If you want system to pick number range created by you, you must use your plan version in
That plan version you need to put in T77S0 table
PLOGI PLOGI
Otherwise it wont pick

PA04 tcode this is for number ranges from PA side which is activated in NUMKR
Tcode OONR is used to maintian number fororg units
NUMKR range is different and OONR is different
novice check OONR Tcode for ur requirement

Hi
Number ranges can be maintained externally or internally. Feature for maintaining number ranges is NUMKR. Whatever number range you defined the same has to be maintained in NUMKR feature and the system takes it automatically.
For maitaining NUMKR feature go to PE03, type NUMKR and click on change icon.
The structure which has to maitained is like this.
NUMKR---MOLGA-India-Employee Group--Permanent--
01
In the above eg: i am maintaining number range for my permanent employees and their number range is maintained in 01 group . lets say 01 is from 00000001-10000000.
Still you have any query let me know. will send you the screen shots.

You are right. I'll check on Org mgmt features and let you know. If you want to create external no for org unit, you need give the number within your number range.

While defining the Number ranges itself there will be check box called 'Ext'. If you check that, system will determine external number ranges.
For example:
No From To Current number Ext
01 10000001 20000000 X
02 20000001 30000000 X
03 30000001 40000000 X
You will be using the above seq nos 01, 02, 03 in NUMKR feature to control the number ranges for your conditions.

defining the condition in feature NUMKR is for PA infotypes,
can we also define conditions for creating org units,
ihave defined (pm->om>basic settings->maintain number ranges)
ex 00000001 59999999 X
in 60000000 99999999
now by default the org units are taking internal number range, but if i wanted the org units to have external num range, can i achieve this condition in pe03.
thanks
How do you differentiate the org unit levels? If you know that you can control the number ranges from the feature NUMKR.
Define the number range intervals in OM configuration (PM -> OM -> Basin settings) with serial numbers like 01, 02, 03..etc, Use these serial numbers to control each level org units in the feature NUMKR.
Thanks!
