Good day again.
Thanks for all your assistance so far, but here is another question.
I am creating a DB Connect Datasource in the Workbench. My problem lies with a data type field DEC with field length = 10 and decimal = 2. When I check the datasource, the following message is displayed:
Field RETAIL_PRICE (Position 4) has 10 characters. This could cause conversion problems. Packed numbers should have an odd number of digits
The proposal is to * increase the lenth with 1 digit*. The db programmer said that he do not want to change the digits to 11.
Is there anything that I can do in BW to rectify this? (Accepting the 10 digit?)
Thanks again
Cj
Thanks for the reply, my feeling exactly!
Have a good weekend

To be honest - I'd tell the db programmer to change the field! "I don't want to" doesn't cut it. What's his justification? What will be the impact on other applications if he does?
Chances are, it'll be fine, but if it isn't, then he's going to have to make the change.
