Hallo Gurus,

I have instlled the WebAS 7.0 locally on my machine. I have creadted a small Netweaver Webdynpro and I am trying to deploy it.

I have checked the Admin console and my server is up and running. However , when I try to configure J2EE settings for my local engine I get an error :

No local engine could be found. Reason: No system could be found under
machinename\sapmnt. Please configure your engine as remote host installation.

What am I doing wrong? When I try to open the http: link with http://<machinename>:8080/ , then it works fine.

Please advise and will be rewarded!

Thanks.

Hello Mukta,

Firstly, Can you check for SAP Managment Console icon created on your desktop (This tool to used to start/stop J2EE server which is running on your local machine) and make sure that J2EE server and others are showing green on MMC.

Once WebAS is up & running use this URL...http://localhost:50000/index.html (It should show SAP J2EE startup page)

Confguration to be done on NWDS to deploy the content directly to WAS is below:

Go to Window-> Preferences->SAP Enterprise Portal here

Define the server parameters (for ex: Alias: J2E, Host:HYSCW2355,Port:50000,Login: Administrator)

At SAP J2EE Engine - choose the option SAP J2EE engine is installed on localhost

The portal url can be http://localhost:50000/irj/portal ( note that enterprise portal runs at port 50000 only)

and you have to provide administrator & sdm passwords during deployment

Regards,

Madhu
