1 Cannot be changed
If you set this Release Indicator You cannot Change the Purchase Order once it is Released. Whenever you try to Change the po in ME22N it will be in Display mode only and Throw Error Message Like PO is already Released, Changes Not Possible.
2 Changeable, no new determination of strategy
If you set this Release Indicator You can Change the Po after Release in ME22N and It wont Ask for New Release Strategy.
3 Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
If you set this Release Indicator You Can Change the PO after Release but Again it will be Subject to Release Strategy. You should release the same po again.
4 Changeable, new release in case of new strat. or val. change
5 Changeable, new release if new strategy/outputted
6 Changeable, new rel. if new strat. or value change/outputted
Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
If you set the above Release Indicators You can Change the PO after Release but Again it will be Subject to Release Strategy as per the Changeability Values Settings.

hi,
When the requisition or an external Purchasing doc has been created with the release code, a release indicator is assigned to the documentu2026The release indicator is a key denoting the release statusu2026.The release status describes the current status of the docu2026If the final approval has not been made then the status will be u201CBlockedu201Du2026
All above settings are done in the SPRO , check at OMGQ and OMGSu2026
Hope it helps..

Release Indicator
Specifies the release status of a purchase requisition. The release indicator specifies whether:
The purchase requisition is fixed (that is, it will not be changed again by material requirements planning)
An RFQ or a purchase order can be created for the requisition
Use
The release indicator is determined at the time of creation via the release strategy that applies to the purchase requisition.
Release Indicator: Purchasing Document
Specifies whether the purchasing document can be processed in or is blocked for follow-on functions.
For PR:
1 LEVEL X Blocked
2 LEVEL 1 Request for quotation
3 LEVEL 1 Request for quotation
4 LEVEL 1 Request for quotation
5 LEVEL 2 RFQ/purchase order
for PO
1 LEVEL 1 Print Out not Possible
2 LEVEL 1 Print Out not Possible
3 LEVEL 1 Print Out not Possible
4 LEVEL 1 Print Out not Possible
5 LEVEL 2 Print Out Possible

hi
release indicator:
When a requisition or an external purchasing document has been processed via a release code, a release indicator is assigned to it.
When the system sets which release indicator is defined in the Customizing facility for Purchasing (in the release strategy via the release statuses).
this means when the release code does his activity then what will be the status of the purchasing document.
you can go through the following link to understand it in details
