Dear Mahesh,
Permit more than one document type per series means System will allow you to
maintain all your documents under a particular series.
Example : You have defined a Series as Test : from 1 to 10000.
And then you have selected the option "Permit more than one document type per series"
Now if you create a document (Sales Order) then the Document no. will be 1 for Series Test.
Then if you will create a 2nd document(Purchase Order) then it's document no. will be 2 for Series Test.
So as per the business requirement you can check this option, or you can leave this check box.

Mahesh,
When you have this check box check...the document numbers do no stay confined to one document...
Let us say you start you business by create a Sales Order..starting at No 1..
Then you create a Delivery document for that Sales Order...the delivery will post with No 2 instead of starting with No. 1
The number no longer are exclusive to the Document and will be shared by all marketing documents..
It is always preferred that this check box be UNCHECKED
