Hi All,

In one of the Application Server SAPOSCOL was not running and in ST06 we were not able to see ne data ,when I checked in c:\usr\sap\prfclog directory and checked dec_coll log I found that dev_proc file was missing so I manually created it manually, and restarted the SAPOSCOL service after that our issue got resolved but next day when I checked the SAPOSCOL service it was not running and nothing was getting displayed in ST06 again I started the SAPOSCOL manually and ST06 started showing the data. Why this is happening?

What could be the reason behind this?

Regards,

Prashant

Hi,

Have you tracked anytime that when does it go down automatically. This usually happens when the system doesn't get enough shared memory. If you are running both DB and APP on same box this happens.

Just observer when exactly iit goes down by itself. Looks like load on system doesn't give enough shared area to run OSCollector which collects the details on system.

Hi Vivek,

DB and Apps server sits on different servers, but if in case what yoy are saying is true that due to unavailability of shared merory SAPOSCOL is getting stopped then what steps should be taked to avoid this problem? This Apps server is having enough free memory all the time.

The latest kernel patch no for our system is 247 and currenlty we are running at 221 which is not too old.

Pls help me in finding the root cause.

waiting for ur reply.

6) SAP service SAPWP_02 has been stopped successfully

7) SAP service SAPWP_02 has been started successfully

Is there any information on event viewer (start - run - eventvwr)? Is your service start mode automatic?
