What is group type and its use, does it be generated when we create a group and how to know the group type of a group from MDM DATA MANAGER.

Hi Sandeep,

There are three types of Group present in MDM

1. ValidationGroup

2. DataGroup

3. LocationGroup

Group Type in Data Manager is visible where the particular group is used. E.g. In Validations tab right click on left pane and select Edit Validation Groups, similarly when you import any image or pdf you need to pass the Dat Group.

While creating groups using Java API you need to pass the Group Type and every group has a constant value associated with it.

Validation Group (1)

DataGroup (2)

LocationGroup (3)

Hi,

data group is a table type.

Data Groups : Stores the hierarchy of data groups used to break the entire set of objects in the MDM repository into manageable subgroups.
