Dear All,
I have one scenario. Finished material requirement totally depends on sales order. As sales order comes, design of the machine starts and design dept prepere BOMs for that specific sales order. Only 2% semifinished material is used in next sales orders. In this case in standard SAP,we have to create new material codes for each semifinished materials.
Is there any alternative to prevent creation of new material codes? It will reduce users efforts in creating every time new material codes and system load also.
Mayur
Hi Mayur,
As your product is changing every time so you don't have any other option than to create a new material ..... Regarding the load to the DB what you can only do is archive the materials , BOM & routing for the product which the business are most probably not going to mfg in near future ...

Hi Mayur,
If Design is changed then Material No. should also change other wise how will you track the history when it really required.
Check it with Variant Configuration if it suites to you requirement.

hi
U try with sales order BOM
Create a sale order in va01 for finished product ,then come to cs61 ,there u can create bom with reference to sales order,in which u can include ur raw material as per customer requirement ,
