Delete profit Center

Dear Experts,

I created one profit center , now i want to delete that profit center, i tried thru KE54 , it is not Deleting, there is no entry in that profit center. How to delete that profit center.

Hi

A profit center cannot be deleted

a) when it is posted to

b) when there is a link to for example a master data like cost center, internal order,

material.

In that case first take off the link and then use KE54.

Profit center is posted to in fiscal year will not be deleted.

If you want to delete the profit center, or shorten its period of

validity, you can reverse the existing postings or repost them to another profit

center

AND

delete the profit center from a certain point in time (not during

fiscal year 2008). To do so, use the transaction 'Change Profit

Center' and shorten the period of validity.

PROFIT CENTERE CANT DELETED MEANS U HAVE ALREADY POSTED

SOME TRANSACTIONS THROUGH THAT PROFIT CENTERE

IF U DONT HAVE ANY ITEMS FOR THAT PARTICULAR PROFIT CENTRE

THEN DIRECTLY U CAN DELETE THROUGH KE54

OTHERWISE U HAVE TRASEFER ALL ITEMS AND THEN U CAN DELETE

Hi,

I want to delete a profit center too. I have this error: "Profit center in active in new general leger". The system is new, and i don't have any transactions in it.

It is a development system. How can I skip this error in order to delete the profit center?

Hi, There shall be valid reason for the system for not allowing deletion of profit center. Let the forum knows the long text of the error message. Trust this helps much! Cheers!

If planning was done against the profit centre you would also not be able to delete it.

What message do you get when you delete?

hi,

check whether u assign the profit center to any cost centers.

if u have assigned and posted thru cost center then it is also posted in to profit center. if not u can delete the profit center in ke54.
