Hi,

What sort of DBMS can be used with BPC 7.0 NW? And how will the script logic be effected with the different DBMS if there's any?

Cheers

BPC7NW does not depend on any DBMS. It can run on any DBMS that is supported by SAP Netweaver. As of now, the script logic in BPC7NW supports most of the MDX functionality and call custom logic where it can execute ABAP programs.

Hi,

Thanks for the explanation.

My concern arose from the fact that MDX is a Microsoft product. Hence I was wondering how BPC 7.0 NW would use MDX on an Oracle DBMS, per se.

You are right but fortunately we could leverage the MDX parser available in Netweaver.

Hello,

As Pravin states MDX has been supported within NetWeaver BI for quite some time. The MDX Engine used within BW is what is used to resolve Dimension Member formulas and measure formulas.

Much of this functionality is ABAP code that as Pravin mentioned does not require a specific database.
