2 BoMs for a Material-1st BoM for Sub-Contracting & 2nd BoM for Production?

Hi Guys

My Client wants to have 2 BoMs for a Material

One BoM for Sub-Contracting and other BoM for In-house prodution.

If MRP is run, the system needs to trigger:

a) the 1st BoM for Sub-Contracting Purchase Order

b) the 2nd BoM for Production Order

as per the requirement.

How should i configure to this.??

Maruthi,

I would suggest you to create 2 Production Versions with the BOMs. The first production version should be defined with Inhouse production BOM, and the second production version with Subcontract BOM. In the Sub-Contract info record assign the Prodcution version 2 .

Now if it is an Inhouse production, then system would default pick the first available production version, incase of subcontract order, it refers to the Inforecord and picks up the production version accordingly.

2. Please be aware that you can assign the valid production version to you subcontracting info record and this way you can use the proper BOM:

Hi,

You can use production version in MRP view 4

Production version is maintained in the MRP 4 screen .here you put the version number validity dates & whether it is activated for repetitive . Then in the details screen you put in the lot sizes the routing group & group counter , the alternative BOM number etc. & all other data that is relevant

Collective maintenance of Production version u2013 C223.

Go to C223.

Enter Plant and Material code.Then press Create tab.

just give plant,version name and Description.You have to maintain Valid from to TO date and Lot size.

In material master MRP4 view - selection metthod you have to maintained 2 or 3.

Hi

Yes. I have configured as suggested by you all.

MRP1 view - Given the values for MRP type and Lot size.

MRP2 view - Procurement type as X and Spl.procurement as 30

MRP4 view - Selection method as 2 and Ind/coll req as 2.

and

activated the Production versions and flaged for Repetitive mfg.

But still i am unable to trigger separate BoMs when i run MRP for PRs and Planned Orders for same material.

And is it compulsory that we need to activate the Repetitive Mfg. My material does not go for Repetitive mfg. !!
