Hi all,
What is the difference between BIA NAme server and BIA Index server.
There are options in RSDDBIAMON to
Restart BIA server
Rebuild BIA indexes
Please explain on this.
Hi Pallavi,
BIA Name server store and coordinate system-wide information. It contanis the information of all servers used in BIA. It also ensures that the all servers can communicate with each other. Name server is also responsible for distributing the system load. It stores information like type of server, address of server etc.
BIA Index server is responsible for indexing, classifying, and searching.
As far as restart options from RSDDBIAMON are concerned, they are explained in TOM for BIA.
Restart BIA Server - This action restarts all the BI Accelerator servers and services. This includes the name server and index server.
Rebuild BIA Indexes - If a check discovers inconsistencies in the indexes, you can use this action to delete and rebuild all the BI Accelerator indexes.
Regards,
Praveen
