Will the next SAP .NET Connector version include any capabilities to manage an existing connection to SAP such as the ability to detect when the connection has failed due to an SAP server outage or network failure?
I need this capability for both client and server applications. Currently I have to write special monitoring applications to check for these conditions and resolve them. For example, I have a Windows Service that runs as a server app to receive SAP Control Recipes via an RFC destination, using a registered ProgID. When SAP is restarted, the program is no longer registered in SAP, and must also be restarted to re-register with SAP.
