Linux on iSeries

Hi All,

Is there anyone out there running SAP on an iSeries where Linux is the OS, and IBM DB2 is the database?

If so, what are your experiences?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

I would agree, your question is not completely precise here ....

Are you looking for an APPL server on Linux on Power or do you want to run the CI there and then with a different DB than DB4 ?

There would be the choices DB6, MaxDB & Oracle.

If you are asking for DB6, you should know, that in this config there is no difference at all to any other unix SAP implementation - it has NOTHING to do with i5 OS ...

Hello Dan,

Just to clarify - you must install the central instance on iSeries to work with SAP database on DB2/400.

You could install extra dialog instance(s) on Linux Power partition, and there has been very positive feedback for this type of configuration. (There is a post on this forum long time ago.)

Best regards,
