Hi,
Can someone post the detailed steps for upgrading from SCM 40 to SCM2007. We are planning on doing this upgrade next month and it would be great to have a reference of someone who has already gone through this exercise.
Cheers,
VK

Hi Shivaji,
Thanks for your reply. I have already gone thru that thread and all of them are only for upgrade to SCM 5.0 whereas I am talking about the upgrade to SCM2007 (SCM 5.1). I acknowledge that most of the steps of upgrading to SCM 5.0 would also be valid for SCM 5.1, but i am looking for the additional steps that are required for SCM 5.1.
Cheers,
VK

Hi Vipin,
Please see the SAP SCM 2007 Brochure which beautifully explains the differences from SCM 4.0 upto SCM 2007.
You can also find the document "SAP Supply Chain Management 2007" on Page 2 of Brochures & White Papers.

If you are doing only APO you need to look at "Supply and Demand Planning" & "Supply Network Collaboration" features only. There are many Executional Operational module Enhancements to SCM (as you it's not just APO) like EWM, TMS and MES which are not needed for you.
In addition to these to understand the Detailed Differences
you must Download from HELP.SAP.COM the
RELEASE NOTES of 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1 (2007).
This will give you a Full understanding of the differences. Obviously the "Proof is in Pudding" so you have to Test the Scenarios as often SAP gives a functionality, but often newer functionality has some Bugs and need to be resolved.
The "APO" has been however much more Stable since SCM 4.1
There are other areas also to learn more ...

Hope this is helpfull.

Hi VK.
Have you downloaded the SCM2007 Master Upgrade Guide from SAPNet?
