change/increase field length

Hi

Is it possible to change/increase the field length for long text description of G/L Account. 50 is too short for GL description.

I would like to understand if this method is supported by SAP.

Would this be called a customization if we are trying to change the length of a field using ABAP?

Also, if SKA1-TXT50 width is increased from 50 to 100, we will also need to enhance the widths of the same field other dependent tables too..

Hi Ruchika,

You can increase the G/L Account Long Text upto 100 characters by using ABAP. As its internal format if of type C with internal length of 100.

But please confirm from your ABAP team regarding its implication adn pros & cons.

possible increase/change descerption g/l lenth

u will matian g/l lenth 50 or 100 letters type , no problem

throw ABAP r setup only length
