Difference between using J2EE adapters and J2SE adapters

Hi

I came around one very confusing point while reading it was like.

It was like using XI but maps from some other MIDDLEWARE technology , so for one inbound scenario they used to parse incoming file using that particular middleware adapter module to know incoming file details like sender party, reciever and all and that adapter module was based on JAVA . For that , they used to reroute the input file from XI to that J2EE adapter framework , parse it then send it finally.

But confusion was , why it will not be parsed and sent using XI J2SE adapters lying in J2SE stack which is also JAVA based as like J2EE.

please clarify my doubt :

IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN J2SE ADAPTERS & J2EE ADAPTERS , REGARDING WHEN TO USE WHICH , THERE WORKING , AND COMPATIBILITY WITH XI
