New ABAP Editor crashes with Unicode characters

Hi there,

we have a problem using Unicode characters in the ABAP New Editor.

Text it's stored in the cluster PCL1(TX) and it's been showed by a new Editor window.

If the text contains any Unicode characters (such as ß or ö) the GUI hangs and then crashes.

The problem does not appear using the old frontend editor.

Any ideas?

Hello,

You can try to update the SAP GUI to the latest patch level.

-> service.sap.com/swdc

-> SAP Support Packages

-> Entry by Application Group

-> SAP Frontend Components

-> SAP GUI for Windows ?

-> SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 7.10 CORE

-> Win32

-> I think the patch 11 is the latest one...

If it does not solve, try to activate the MS Editor in transaction I18N

-> I18N

-> I18N Customizing

-> MS Word as Editor

-> select the SAPScript and Smartforms checkbox. This configuration will be set globally.
