Changing fiscal year variant in OB37

At the moment we have 12 standard periods with a 4, 4, 5 .... weeks

now we want to change this to calendar Months.

Some Months ago we blocked planning for 2009 and the posting periods are blocked. There are no postings/planning for 2009.

Cost element we create by year. 2009 not created and for that reason there are no PO with a date in 2009 (commitments).

SD is not used

Can we change the calendar from 2009 to the monthly periods or can we get some probelems?

Hi Annotee,

Changing the period setting in Fiscal year will not create any problem for you provided it is done from the next fiscal year. Since in your case the periods do not contain exactly a calendar month ( even if the fiscal year is not calendar year) because broken in weeks it overlaps in months thus creating a problem when you set you fiscal year as calendar year.

Since you want to do this from 2009, rest assured nothing shall happen. Even the depreciation will adjust itself.
