Depreciation calculated even after sale of asset.

Hello,

in order to book an asset deal we activated asset no. 10001 dd. 01.09.2008. This asset was first an asset under construction After activation, it was booked on account 10001. We then sold the asset, booking against account (asset sale clearing). This booking is generated automatically when an asset is sold. The deactivation worked since the booking can be seen on account Nevertheless, the system actually not deactivate the asset and therefore still keeps on booking depreciations. There should not have been a depreciation at all on September, though.

Please can anyone tell me how to how to undo the depreciation on the asset and cancel the asset. Also can anyone let me know why the system is calculation depreciation even after asset sale?

First check the value date you have entered when disposing. If it is a future date, system keep posting depn. until that date.
