character '#' appearing in the file

hi

I amusing a poen data set statement to open a file in binary mode and the file is of type .dat. when i am writing a line from the EBAN table into the file using transfer statement, i am getting '#' character between each character of the file. how do i remove this.

Hi,

1. character means it is separated by a tab... I think you should open the file in Text mode and not binary mode.
