Hi All,
what is the difference between a view and a work book?
Thnx
Sri
when excute the query in BEx Analyzer - After certain drill downs, drill ups, filters you save navigation state in the form of view or Workbook. View is abstract it does not hold the data but you can use this quiey view in Web templates as data provider
Workbook - can be repeatedly refreshed daily basis to view the contents. User need not do all analysis every time.
I hope this helps you.
thanks

Hi,
A veiw is a particular navigation step of a query.
Where as a Workbooks is the default view of query, with some formatting, eg: you can add a logo, colors, etc.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Kalyan

hi,
Views are primarily used for BW Web Reports, A local view can be accessed only within a workbook in which it was saved, where as a global view can be accessed globally in the system, it is not attached to a workbook. Only Global view can be used in BW Web Templates.
Workbooks are nothing but queries saved locally (in ur m/c) with excel formating, like font changes, lay out changes etc...Workbooks into which queries are inserted are no different in appearance than other Excel workbooks.
