No rang for Material

Hi Friends,

Can u tell me on what no range to be mantained for material type for External no range and any alpha , numeric with allowable charters.

Please confirm

Hi,

Check in MMNR, here maintain the No. Range Group and assign the Material Type under it.

Here you can maintain the internal as well as external no. ranges for the material types.

Internal No. range can be only numeric and external no. range can be numeric, alphanumeric or alphabetic.

Maintain External Number ranges as From A to ZZZZZZZZZ and Try Dont forget to put tick Mark agaisnt External.

Please confirm. Client dont have fixed policy on no maintaine. bcas they have no range depending upon suppliers . they are dealing with trading.

hi,

Check the OMS2 (If you use the external no. range then tick the field External no. assignment w/o check)..and then go to MMNR....

Internal number range is followed to Properly structure the materials according to material type. In Internal number range system gives the number & this is error free.

So advise to always use Internal number range.

But based on the business requirements we may require to use External Number ranges.
