hi,

Its to change the NUMBER but not number range....

USE MMNR, click on Group button and right click on mouse.

, insert group, Enter Text for Material type and Enter interval from number to To number and press enter.

MATERIAL NUMBER RANGE:

can use enhancements MGA00002 & MGA00003 on Material Number Ranges...

Hope it helps..

Regards

Probably easiest to just create new materials, with the new numbers, in refernece to the old ones.

Undating the Table entries directly will create auditing problems so never try this option

Sorry i'm worried that is possible but i would never suggest you to do this.

possible ways:

1:You could use the material number you want changed as a template to create a new material. Then archive the old material number.

2:

UPDATE MARA
SET MATNR =
WHERE MATNR = .

COMMIT WORK. "i would never suggest.

reason:Matnr is the primary key and foreign key as well for many many SAP table if you are daring to do this than i lost after thinking your SAP system database integrity.

so please go with first possible way and old material you may either delete or achieve.

It is Not Possible to Change Material Number Once Created.

Why you want to change the Material Number Instead You Can Block it For Further Postings and Can create New Material Record.
