Preventing UD before GR

I'm looking for a way to prevent a user from doing a UD on an 04 inspection lot before production as done the GR against the order.

We use early creation of the 04 inspection lot. In some plants, the lab might complete the resutls on the final sample before the operator confirms their order and receipts the material. As a result, the stock is added to the inspection lot that has had the UD made already.

We want to block the UD (and auto UD) from being done if there is no stock available yet to post. I tried a user status that prevents a UD prior to stock posting but that then forces the user to do a two step process. Post the stock, save the lot, then come back in and make the UD. Not good and it prevents an Auto UD.

I looked at using SPRQ as a setting to influence the UD but it appears SPRQ can not be used to set a user status.

Any other ideas?

Hi Craig,

You can use the field exit for the usage decision.

I have used the field exit for preventing the UD code, in your case you have to use your logic to prevent UD before GR.
