Solution mgr

When i login into SAP solution mgr it gives dump not able to login further to any transaction.

Short dump is Syntax error in program "SAPLSDOC ".

Error in the ABAP Application Program

The current ABAP program "SAPMSYST" had to be terminated because it has

come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.

The following syntax error occurred in program "SAPLSDOC " in include "LSDOC

You really didn't try some options to re-import the support package properly. Even if you dont have SPAM access, you can still import the package using "tp r3i" option.. Anyway now you have started with restore.. Best of luck.

Do one thing clean up all the system data files and control files and restore the datatbase.

What did you do prior to this? Installation of support packages?

Yes Prior to that i was installing the support packages and

also i have noticed that disp+work.exe is in yellow colour.

please help me

No the support packages is not successfull. Now in couldn't login to SAP at all, it gives dump.

Can you logon to the system and start "SPAM" again? What was the root cause why it failed?

I was in the process of installation of support packages and in the middle it got terminated by

producing the above short dumps. There are nearly 2000 short dumps yesterday and today.

The following error message i found in the event viewer which is one of the causes for the 1000 of dumps

SAP-Basis System: Transaction Canceled 00 671 ( SYNTAX_ERROR 20081014154905bdpmolm01_mOL_01 SAPSYS 000 )

Some central programs are not complete. What happened during the SPAM update? Did the machine crash?

The easiest way to solve that problem is to restore a backup from before the patches and start over.

System didn't crash. Support packages updte is not complete. I have raised a call with SAP

If we restore the backup, do we have to take a second backup again ( or the backup taken will already be there) before implementing the support packages.

The backup will exist in that location even after you perform a restore.

As said the BAckup was restored ( the old backup which was there before applying the support packages) . But still the same problem when i login to sap it comes with the dumps. i have checked whether supportpackages have came back to normal as before level. But to my suprise it hasn't come to theprevious level it is in the present level even though the system is restored( i am 100 % sure the back up that was restored is the one taken before applying the support packages)

During the restore the SAP is stopped.

Please frinds help us how to solve the problem.

The backup which you restored was online or offline?

if the backup of online then until what time you restored, did you specified the time (mean before starting the patch installation). if the backup is offline then there should not be a problem.

It is an offline backup .I am pasting the logfile file of the restore. Can anyone correct me from the log whther the rrestore was successfull or not and if not what would be the error as per the log. ( the restore is done by a different team, as per my knowledge i feel that restore is not successfull, they say it is successfull) i am confused.
