my client have branch they want to get report of trail balance of every branch.

so which would be better account segmentation or cost centre

But why should be use only for Trail Balance ? And Any other reasion for this.

Cost centor is only a tool for P&L. It is nothing to do with trial balance.

In Segmentation you can do budgeting butr not for Profit centers.

You can define various reports by using Financial Report Template. based on segments

But cost center will not help you

With profit centres, as mentioned, you get a report that gives you a split based on Direct (100% to PC) or Indirect (Thumbsuck to PC). With segmentation, you are allocating accurately to a specific segement, be it a division, department, etc. Reporting is better, as you can use all the financial reports against the segments. Only downside is the exponential increase in the amount of G/L accounts created, depending on your requirements.
