SRM Timeout ? (even with user activity) :-(

Hi everybody,

Im very worried about this, in my Prod. environment sometimes my end-users receive a timeout message !!! Even if they are working actively (no matter about innactivity).

Im worried because I cant find a pattern yet, sometimes this happens in CCM, sometimes in Sourcing Cockpit, etc.

How can I fix this ? =(

These are some of my parameters in ICM:

Timeout handling

icm/keep_alive_timeout (sec.) = 600

icm/conn_timeout (msec.) = 5000

icm/max_timeout_net (msec.) = 2000

icm/min_timeout_mpi (msec.) = 5000

Misc

rdisp/plugin_auto_logout = 1800

THANKS A LOOOOOOOT FOR YOUR HELP ! =(

Regards,

Diego

What instance you get this issue ? how often ?

are they get 403 time out error?

Are EP installation there ?

Are the users working on multiple sessions?

Any net work issue?

Any dumps?

please refer below note

note EP times out, when browsing through the catalog.

Note 1013467 - Too many sessions for each user/terminal in the SRM Server

Dear Muthu,

this happens not too often. I was not able to reproduce it today. Only a user complained again that everything he entered is lost.

All his 15 shopping cart positions!

What we get is an "400 Session timed out - please log in again" error in

...

module: icxxthr_mt.c

Detail: Session does not exist

...

I don't know if that happens when there are multiple sessions. What I tested is the error from note 1013467 when always clicking "Refresh" again. Nothing happend, the system has been stable. I checked the memory usage in SITSPMON. It went up, but the system has been stable.

No dumps, no network issue. The user did also not use the catalog.

What I told to our SAP basis team not is to raise the parameter icm/keep_alive_timeout from 60 to 300.

Perhaps that helps.

Thanks and best regards,

Hennig

Dear Henning,

Did you find a solution to your problem?

I got the same time out error, when a user is working on a catalog and even with activity, after several minutes the "400 Session timed out - please log in again" message appears.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Dear Greg,

so far we don't have a solution for this issue.

We raised parameter icm/keep_alive_timeout from 60 to 300, but the system has not yet been restarted after the parameter change. There was no maintenance window since then.

What we also get in transaction SITSPMON are mutex locks. Perhaps that has sth. to do with our timeout errors. Pls. have a look if you also get mutex locks.

We upgraded to a higher Kernel patchlevel now (7.00 SP 279) to solve the mutex lock problem (as suggested by SAP).

On Dec. 1st we're going to reboot our SRM environment. I can tell you more after that restart.

Henning

Any experience with this ? By the way, this happens with some users only.. so, It could be a browser configuration also.. =(

I add the SRM url address to the trusted sites (IE).

Any recommendation ?
