Dear all
I am starting installation on ECC6.0 ABAP system on HPUX 11.31 with Oracle 10g. I have two hp blade servers with 32 GB Ram and 1 TB SAN box and I want to use one of the box as Application server and one as Database server, I just wanted to know for my first instance out of these two box I will have to install one dialog instance after I will finish the database instance if I am not wrong, but to install my first instance I have to select the option Database instance or Central services instance for ABAP (ASCS) from the high availability system option in sapinst kindly tell me what option I have to select first if I have to install ECC6.0 on HA cluster environment with oracle the options in the menu are as follows:
HIGH-AVAILABITY SYSTEM
1. Central Services Instance for ABAB (ASCS)
2. Database Instance
3. Central Instance
4. Dialog Instance

Manish
Hi,
Please insrtall the Oracle first on DB server(on whhich you are planning to install database) and apply the required patches.
And then Central Services Instance for ABAB (ASCS)-->Database Instance -->Central Instance --> Dialog Instance

Hello,
The HA installation option provided by SAPINST is only valid for the MSCS (Microsoft cluster) installations. In your case (MC Service Guard on HP-UX), you need to do a standard installation. Then configure SGeSAP script based on your requirement DBCISCS or ASCSSCSDB etc...

Hello Manish,
I just assisted in setting up a clustered SAP production server on HP-UX and I can tell you it's not an easy task. Hopefully we got some support from HP High-Availability specialists for configuring the cluster software/hardware.
Have a look here [http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html#Serviceguard%20Extension%20for%20SAP|http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html#Serviceguard%20Extension%20for%20SAP] and read one of those manuals. It will show you what to expect with HA installation on HP.

Please read the installation guide (http://service.sap.com/instguides) - there are a few scenarious how something like that can be set up.
