On Execution of Web template it runs the old query and not new

Greetings BI Experts,

I have a Web template which is a copy of 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. In the Data provider DP_1, I select the query radio button and put my query say Q1. I ran it and the result was ok.

After that in the same web template I chainged the Query from Q1 to Q2.

But the Template is still picking the variable screen of the Q1. So whatever changes I make to the Web template its not reflecting it.

Am I doing somthing wrong here???

Your suggestions will be reciprocated with lots of points

Thanks

sometime that happens

after selecting query2 did u save the template

are both query1 & 2 are built on same multiprovider with kindof alike variable screen.

try creating a new dataprovider - dp2 and then assign query2 to it

save it

change some properties like hide variable screen and so..

one way or another try to check if u miss something out, as it is very difficult to see ur webtemplate here, hard to suggest

Hi Kartikey...

Thanks for your prompt reply... I did change the DP_1 to DP_2

In the XHTML area in WAD 7.0 I see everywhere its using DP_2 . But it executes the query Q1 whihc is assigned to DP_1.

Its a very serious issue for me coz I just cannot figure it out ..

Any more suggestions wil certainly help me

Thanks

need not to worry buddy,,,

there are lots of alternatives

1. if u cannot change the dataprovider, forget about that webtemplate

try to create a new webtemplate

try to build new dataprovider and this time assign query2, save and execute and see if that works out.

2. hardcode the dataprovider in HTML layout,

see the coding

<param name="OWNER" value="SAP_BW"/>

<param name="CMD" value="SET_DATA_PROVIDER"/>

<param name="NAME" value="DATAPROVIDER_1"/>

<param name="QUERY" value="query2"/>

<param name="INFOCUBE" value="MULAIMUL1"/>

DATA_PROVIDER: DATAPROVIDER_1

</object>

3. try to match query 1 & 2 and see what is that common in between this 2 queries

are they having some common variable screens.

are they built on same infoprovider

do u have acess/security to build webtemplate.

Hi,

There is a button "Check" and "Check on Server". Try hitting those buttons and let WAD check the template.

Just try doing it, it might help.

Hi Vishal,

Thanks Bro,....I did that and the Web template level every thing is fine ....

After doing that it gives me couple of warnings which i am ignoring again...

what I am doing is cehcking each and every Web ITem and see that none of them use DP_1...

Thanks ..any more suggestions please keep them coming

Hi,

Yeah you can ignore those warnings and you are doing the right thing by checking the individual web items if they use that data provider.

You can make all the changes and then close the whole application. Restart it and then check.

hope it helps.
