Start date of a production order

I have a planned order that I converted to production order by checking the conversion indicator in APO.This production order is to today with 1000PCs. Now, if somebody changes the 1000PCs to 700PCs tomorrow, what happens to the start date of the order? is it rescheduled to tomorrow?? I mean the start date is changed to tomorrow?? The order is supposed to be produced yesterday.

Hi Visu,

From my understanding of your statements above, the system checks PPM and resource to find out the time required to setup and produce and then schedule it on today's date?? or looks for a vacant space in resource from today and decides the end date of operation??

Yes system will calculate time required for the order based on PPM and than first try to do backward scheduling in your case and if start day of PO falls in past after backward scheduling (depending on resources or material availability) than system will do forward scheduling from the todays date and schedule the order.

Start date and end date may both will change depending on scheduling type .
