N4S Test Drive Java + Abap: no java stack created

Hello,

I am trying to install the test drive of Netweaver 2004s Java+Abap on Linux. I think I got most of the work done, but now I can't see a java stack up and running.

I have the licence, everything is in order, just the Java AS is missing. Can anyone help me ?

I am not a SAP Basis expert, just a java developer and I would like to have it running for a demo in my company, as we are planning on implementing some applications using the Java Webdynpro technology ...

Hi,

It seems your java engine didnt start. Could you please paste the lines which are started with ERROR in files:

/usr/sap/<SID>/<instancename>/work/std_dispatcher.out , dev_dispatcher.trc and also std_server0.out and dev_server0.trc files.

when you do an

ps -auxf | grep n4sadm

what do you see? Are there any jlaunch processes? If yes, how many? Please post the output of the command above.

I can only count one jlaunch process.

I can setup the Netweaver Developer Studio to connection to the J2EE Engine at port 3900, but I can't see any instance.

Hi Gregory,

I edited your message to make it readable using the 'code' tags from the "Further Markup Possibilities" with are on the lower right when writing a message. Anyway, if there is only one jlaunch process, there is something not working with your J2EE engine. You now have to check the log files why it doesn't come up.

First, try to connect to the J2EE with jcmon

jcmon pf=/usr/sap/N4S/SYS/profile/N4S_DVEBMGS01_n4shost

and if you can connect, try to check the J2EE server from there.

Normally, you have at least 3 jlaunch processes. the first is the bootstrap (which is running in your system, check -nodeName=bootstrap), the second the dispatcher (not running) and the third is the server (also not running). Check the logfiles of bootstrap, dispatcher and server out in your work directory as well as in the j2ee folder if your instance.
