variable size item

hi guys,

i have a fert its bom has a roh the size is diameter 50mm x 100 mm length. i want to know what base unit of measure should be given in the material master for this ROH.

my client here has a requirement that while prodution if diameter 50mm x 100mm is not available they may go for a bigger diameter and different lenth for their turning process.

i have told that this can be achieved by defining variable bom item category. by defining suitable form,ula the cost of the roh updates.

can anyone explain me the whole process as to how the boms are created to meet my clients requirement.

Hi,

T-Code-CS01

1. Enter the material for which you want to create BOM, Plan and BOM usage.

2. Select the item category "R", enter the component. Now you will be taken to the "Variable item data" screen.

3. Enter the datas of Size 1, 2 & 3 (as required) and the unit of the size & number. System will calculate the "Qty of var- size item" in the unit assigned to the basic data of the material master of the component.

4. Save

Note: You can change the unit of the variable size item as per your requirement in OS28

u can use formula pidiameterlength whrere diameter and length are variable.
